Symmetry and visual balance: the frog at the center of a children's wall art with playful style

To conclude this pictorial universe, I wish to address the notion of symmetry and visual balance, two principles that prove particularly important in a children's painting. In this creation, the frog occupies the central position, like an anchor point that attracts the eye and structures the entire image. The large eyes, placed in almost symmetric fashion, reinforce this impression of stability and radiate an enveloping energy, conducive to daydreaming. Thanks to this balance, the observer, whether young or old, can easily immerse themselves in the scene without ever feeling lost among the colors or details. The choice of symmetry, or at least approximate symmetry, is intentional: it brings a sensation of calm and serenity, particularly beneficial for a work intended for a young audience. However, to maintain a playful spirit, I deliberately introduced some touches of asymmetry, such as more pronounced splashes on one side or slight variations in shades of green. In this way, symmetry is not only a visual effect, but also a means of suggesting a universe where each element has its place, while encouraging the young spectator's creativity. In my view, it's in this subtle marriage of structure and freedom that the strength of this painting resides: an invitation to dive into imagination and let oneself be carried by the joyful balance of the composition.
