This mosaic representation features a Shih Tzu in all its splendor, beautifully stylized according to Byzantine tradition. The golden fur undulates in precious arabesques, alternating between pure gold, copper and bronze which create striking material effects. The deep cobalt blue background , composed of meticulously arranged tesserae, highlights every detail of the canine silhouette. The piercing blue eyes subtly contrast with the surrounding chromatic richness. An ornate frame with red and gold geometric motifs borders the whole, recalling the borders of medieval illuminated manuscripts. This mosaic technique gives the work an exceptional visual texture where each small tile sparkles individually.

This artwork draws inspiration from Byzantine art, where golden mosaics depicted what was precious and sacred. The Shih Tzu, dog of Chinese emperors, finds here a representation worthy of its royal status. The golden motifs evoke nobility and the natural elegance of this breed, while the deep blue background recalls the mosaics of ancient basilicas.
The artist used a graded gold technique that literally makes the fur shimmer. The mosaic tesserae in gold and copper create natural light games, giving an impression of movement to the silky hair. This alternation between warm golds and cobalt blue generates a dramatic contrast that immediately attracts the eye and brings exceptional brightness to the room.
This painting will seduce lovers of Byzantine art and enthusiasts of luxurious decoration. It is perfectly suited to people who appreciate works full of history and symbolism, as well as Shih Tzu owners who want to celebrate their companion. Its precious character makes it an ideal choice for those seeking a unique and sophisticated decorative piece.
This combination reprises one of the most noble color codes in the history of art. Ultramarine blue, a color traditionally associated with royalty and the divine, highlights the warmth and brilliance of gold. This harmony of complementary colors creates a perfect visual balance, where the richness of the gold illuminates without overwhelming, while the blue brings depth and serenity.
This work thrives in an interior with Mediterranean or oriental influences, where it naturally dialogues with noble materials such as marble, dark wood or brass. It also enhances a contemporary decor by bringing a touch of history and preciousness. Its horizontal format makes it an ideal centerpiece above a sofa or console in a living room.
