The animal's head occupies the entire space of the canvas, framed head-on with its powerful horns coiled around either side of the skull. The deep turquoise background structures the composition in blocks and streaks, while splashes of fuchsia pink explode in the upper and lower corners of the work. The fur is rendered in white and beige sand, crossed with black streaks that outline the volume of the muzzle and eyes. The line is nervous, almost calligraphic, mixing thick impasto and liquid projections typical of gestural art.
