Each stroke, each splash of ink, suggests the frozen movement of nature reclaiming its rights, offering a spectacle that is both dramatic and soothing.

One of the strengths of this work lies in its subtle balance between light and darkness. Inspired by the dramatic approach of Caspar David Friedrich's tableau Caspar David Friedrich, I accentuated the deep shadow areas to create a sense of depth and mystery. The ruins thus emerge from the black, like vestiges rising from a forgotten past, while the white areas around them evoke a cold and diffuse light. The shadow not only sculpts the forms, but also structures the narrative of the painting. The darkest parts highlight the architectural details, while the light creates visual breaths that guide the eye through the composition. The dead tree, traced in fine and expressive lines, stands out violently against the bright background, bringing a sense of movement and fragility. This balance is essential to the evocative power of the work. It allows a tension to be established where one feels both the grandeur of the past and the solitude of the present. By manipulating light and shadow with precision, I wanted to transcribe this timeless and introspective atmosphere, which makes the tableau Caspar David Friedrich a visual homage to the beauty of ruins and the memory of time.
