Fly over the Corsican city and be carried away by this aerial view warm where the terracotta roofs dialogue with the deep sea. This painting captures the soul of a Mediterranean city bathed in light, between ancient bell towers and lively alleys.
This canvas presents a bird's-eye view of a dense Mediterranean city, built around a central cathedral with blue domes. The orange roofs and terracotta succeed in warm waves, punctuated by yellow, ochre and pink facades. In the background, the navy blue of the sea contrasts with a clearer sky, dotted with white sailboats in a port. The pictorial touch is thick and impasto, evoking a vigorous impressionistic style. An emerald green palm tree and a lively square with cars bring movement to the foreground. The light seems to hit the city at the end of the morning, carving out bluish shadows between the buildings. The whole thing plays on a successful contrast between the warm tones of the buildings and the cool tones of the water.
