This painting is constructed in superimposed horizontal bands, like sedimentary layers seen in cross-section. The cream white structures the upper and lower part of the composition, giving way to an orange terracotta that runs through the center of the work. A large textured sand disc occupies the upper right corner, surrounded by a olive green circle that softens its contrast. Vertical sculpted grooves create a subtle play of shadows in the center of the canvas. The lower part ends with a large area of sage green matte, with grainy reliefs. The whole plays on thick impastos and rough textures that capture the light differently depending on the angle. The style recalls a stylized desert landscape, between geometric abstraction and raw material.
