The composition features a solitary palm tree, the trunk and leaves of which are treated in a deep anthracite black , applied in broad, thick strokes that recall the palette knife technique. This dark foliage stands out strongly against a background in a gradation of beige and sand brown, textured with lighter areas evoking diffuse and dusty light. The leaves stretch out like a fan, some thin and sharp, others wider, giving a sense of movement frozen by the wind. The contrast between the dense blacks and the warm tones of the background creates an almost photographic depth. The lower part of the trunk merges partially into shades of gray and ochre, reinforcing the subject's earthly anchorage.
