The composition displays a multitude of organic cells with crystalline outlines, like a rock section viewed under a microscope. The turquoise dominates in the center, crossed by fine whitish cracks that recall the grain of an old enamel. All around, clumps of golden granular material form thick, almost three-dimensional borders, separating each alveolus like metallic veins. Touches of amber and copper brown appear in places, bringing a mineral warmth to the whole. A dark cell, almost black, dotted with golden flakes, creates a deep contrast in the heart of the canvas.
