This artwork depicts a palm tree seen from a low angle, the trunk rising towards a vast expanse of foliage. The palette rests on a marked contrast between the terracotta intense of the drawing and the cream background slightly speckled with ocher spots. The leaves, traced with fine and nervous lines, draw a dynamic movement that radiates from the heart of the palm tree. In the center, a cluster of round fruits brings a different texture, almost sculptural. The line recalls botanical engraving and ink sketch, with hatching that suggests the relief of the bark. At the bottom of the composition, other tropical foliage in brick red comes to enrich the background. The whole conveys a feeling of ascending movement and filtered light, typical of tropical skies.
