A dense bouquet of red roses and peach blossoms unfolds in subdued, almost theatrical lighting. Each petal seems captured at the peak of its opening, between bordeaux velvet and coral softness. A floral composition that breathes contained passion and refinement.
The panoramic format of this painting features a tightly packed pile of roses with widely spread petals. The bordeaux red dominates the composition, punctuated by touches of peach and coral that soften the whole. The dark, almost black background plunges the flowers into a dramatic chiaroscuro typical of Flemish painting. The grazing light caresses the veins of the petals, revealing their velvety texture and satin reflections. The discreet green leaves appear in the background to structure the floral mass. The photographic grain reinforces the realism and depth of each corolla. The whole creates a striking contrast between the surrounding darkness and the chromatic brilliance of the roses.
