A silent vertigo seizes those who contemplate this navy blue sphere suspended in infinite darkness. This Planet painting captures this rare moment when dawn breaks over the horizon of a sleeping world.
The composition presents our planet in close-up, taken from Earth's orbit, with the North American continent clearly visible in the foreground. The deep navy blue of the ocean dominates the sphere, with lighter shades evoking currents and clouds. The continental areas, treated in anthracite grey, contrast with the thousands of golden and ochre luminous points that draw the urban network in the night. In the background, a starry black background accentuates the spatial depth, while an intense luminous burst pierces the horizon, suggesting sunrise. The bluish atmospheric curve surrounding the planet creates a striking luminous halo. The artistic rendering combines photographic realism and painted texture, giving the whole a dimension that is both scientific and poetic.
