The composition superimposes two distinct universes. At the top, on a cream-colored, striped background reminiscent of an old windowpane, a solid red disc is juxtaposed with a second circle formed of concentric red and black rings, at the center of which sits a textured planet with a marbled deep blacksurface, surrounded by a metallic gray ring worthy of Saturn. At the bottom, the scene shifts into photographic black and white : jagged rocks emerge from a sea of foam, under a sky of dark mountains.
