The keyboard of a piano unfolds diagonally, its traditionally black and white keys reinvented in a bold palette. Turquoise and navy blue dominate the left side of the composition, whileburnt orange and tawny ignite the right side of the painting. The black keys punctuate the whole with regularity, creating a visual rhythm that recalls the musical cadence. The palette knife technique reveals a thick relief, generous impasto that gives the canvas an almost sculptural texture. A few touches of deep red and pink emerge in the upper areas, bringing an additional note of warmth. The light seems to glide over each paint relief, accentuating the contrasts between shadows and vibrant colors.
